It has definitely been hectic, but I am finally updating the blog! It is my goal to update the blog each week to keep you up to date on what we are doing in our class. We are off to a great start! We are building a routine and working on expected school behavior. I am excited to see how each student will grow over this school year. Enjoy your long weekend!
Next Week in 2nd Grade: Reading Story: A Walk in the Desert Comprehension Skills: Main Idea and Details Spelling: Inflected endings: -s, -ed, -ing Math: Chapter 1 Test and moving on to our next unit, Numbers to 1,000 Important Dates & Reminders: September 5- No School September 7- Picture Day (remember to send back picture forms if you wish to order your child's picture) September 12th- All fundraiser orders are due September 19- We are collecting coins for the cure this month and will need all donations by the 19th. The PTA would love to have you join! Please let me know if you are interested in joining the Martin PTA What a fantastic first week! I am absolutely loving getting to know each one of these amazing kids more each day! As you may have heard from after school stories, this week has been filled with a lot of rules as well as some fun get to know you activities. We will continue to work on these rules next week as well as the weeks to follow so that we can become expert second graders! We will also begin our first Go Math Unit and our first Reading story next week. Please look for the classroom news to come home on Monday! Have a wonderful weekend!
I am overjoyed to start the 16-17 school year with a great group of kids! I have no doubt that this year will be a great year filled with lots of learning and fun.
